Minutes of Louisiana Contest Club

The meeting was called to order by President Mark Ketchell K5ER at 10:00 am.

K5ER extended welcome to members and guests, and gave a basic overview of LCC.

All introduced themselves.

At conclusion of presentation the meeting was moved to another room at 11:00am.

Motion made by KI5XP, seconded by K5FNQ to dispense with reading the minutes of the previous meeting.

President K5ER advised of upcoming elections according to bylaws. Nomination committee was established, with W5WZ, KI5XP and N5MLJ with K5ER as alternate.

Floor was opened for nominations.

For President: K5ER was nominated by KI5XP, seconded by WB5AAA

For Vice President: KI5XP was nominated by K5FNG, seconded by NA5Q

For Secretary/Treasurer: W5WZ was nominated by KI5XP, seconded by WB5AAA

For Director 1: NA5Q was nominated by K5FNQ, seconded by K5ER

For Director 2: W5AG was nominated by KI5XP, seconded by WB5AAA

With no other nominations forthcoming, the meeting moved on. Nominations will remain open by e-mail or US Mail until April 9, 2009 to meet the requirements of the by-laws. Voting will be allowed by US mail or e-mail from April 10 to April 23. Voting may also take place at the meeting in Monroe on April 25, 2009.

K5ER introduced discussion ensued regarding LCC purchasing a table at the Dayton Contest Dinner. The outcome is that LCC will not purchase table from club funds.

KI5XP introduced discussion to consider re-centering the LCC circle since we have no membership in extreme southeast Louisiana. No action was taken.

K5FNQ introduced discussion to consider registering trademark or tradename for LCC with LA Sec of State. No action was taken.

Next meeting location Monroe LA on April 25. KI5XP will present a RTTY forum.

With no further business to conduct, a motion to adjourn was made by KI5XP, seconded by WB5AAA. The meeting was adjourned at 11:55am.
